My Work

I spent most of my life growing up in a military home in Eastern North Carolina, where my creative energy went into writing short stories, song lyrics and poetry. I only recently shifted my interests into writing novels and then had to really learn how to write. Jonah: A Gay Teenager's Journey for Love Through the Magical Realism of Faith is my first book.

Being a southern gay man, presented many challenges, especially with my own self-acceptance. In 2002, I met my husband and we married in 2013. We currently live in San Francisco with our teenage son.
